Practical information<\/strong> about the Grottes de Maxange<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It’s an easy visit<\/strong> from our campsite, just 20 minutes from the Grottes de Maxange. A true wonder of nature<\/strong>, the Grottes de Maxange offer a unique spectacle<\/strong> of rare concretions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The stalactites and stalagmites<\/strong>, known as draperies, stretch for almost 90m. All these forms seem to defy the laws of gravity, suspended from the ceiling of the cavity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The site, discovered in 2000<\/strong>, has now been awarded the Qualit\u00e9 Tourisme label. It is open to the public from April to November<\/strong>. Visits are organized daily in July and August, from 9am to 7pm. Tours last around 40 minutes<\/strong> and cost \u20ac5.90 for children and \u20ac9.50 for adults. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A guide accompanies you and explains the formation of the galleries<\/strong>, the geology of the cave and the source of the concretions. Be sure to wear warm clothing<\/strong>, as the temperature inside the cave is around 13\u00b0C all year round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
