Practical information about Gouffre de Proumeyssac
For your next vacation at our campsite near the Gouffre de Proumeyssac, consider exploiting this immense vault, nicknamed the Crystal Cathedral. Legend has it that it was the devil’s lair because of the thick column of smoke rising from it. It is the region’s fifth most visited landmark. You have two choices for your visit:
- on foot, via the tunnel. The guided tour lasts around 45 minutes and costs around €12.90 for adults and €9.50 for children.
- aboard a rotating gondola for a panoramic view. The price for adults is around €21.90 and €16.30 for children.
The site is open from 2 to 5 pm in February, November and December. In March, mid-September and October, it is open from 9.30am to 5.30pm. In April, May, June and early September, it’s open from 9.30am to 6pm. In July and August, opening hours are from 9am to 7pm.
